Ever since Donald Trump was elected president, California has resembled the busty blonde B-movie actress in a horror film.
You know the look. Eyes wide. Red lips parted halfway between a gasp and a scream. Hands frozen in mid-flail.
That was the reaction in the scene where President Trump called California out of control and said he might have to cut off federal funds.
This terrifying prospect has public officials up and down the state looking everywhere for a copy of the U.S. Constitution. It says he cant do that, right? States have rights. Right?
You might think so if you read the Tenth Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
That amendment was written to make it absolutely clear, even though the authors of the Constitution thought it was already clear, that the federal government had limited powers. The powers of the states, on the other hand, were numerous and indefinite, in James Madisons words....

I don’t know about the dam, but i do know that the state engineers are not telling us the truth and its apparent that they don’t know what they are doing.
Trump has California
(moonbeam) by the balls.
This idiot didn’t think
past his nose...defiance
is fickle....
I feel your pain. I am still in New York. Maybe we will never win but someone has to stay behind the lines and fight. Viva the resistance.
Long ago, I was friend’s with a girl from Oroville.
“THey havent tried to go it alone without the 9th largest economy in the world at their back.”
Disconnect it from the US power grid and shut off the water from the Colorado River, it won’t be the 9th largest economy for long.
The issue was decided on April 9, 1865. No discussion remained. End of story.

this is pretty simple and in some places they are doing it already.
when they find out an illegal is in the local jail put out a federal warrant on them. Then the local cops must hold them under arrest and notify the fed to come and get them.
If they do not enforce the federal warrant then cut off all funding got law enforcement in that county.
The locals can not fight this but they will end up with a crime wave without the extra federal money they receive.
OK now explain to us just how Cali is going to pay all of that welfare, food stamps, medical coverage for people who work under the table and don’t pay taxes while they are funding a military from scratch to provide for their national defense...
F-35’s are only a hundred million each.... Ships a billion a copy. The existing national guard, and air guard, in cali is not manned or equipped to protect the left coast.
And just think, Cali will be, already is, the number one target for north korea if they ever go crazy....
I really believe that if Trump can run the illegals out of California the GOP could win quite a few elections there and deprive the libtards of that huge block of electoral votes they have been banking for decades. I do think it is doable and is the path we need to pursue. Of course, the libtards realize this as well and so we are having this fight over illegals. It is a fight we have to win.
Boo Frikkin’ Hoo. Your state has been spiralling into a liberal hellhole since Reagan left the Governorship. That didn’t happen in a vacuum.
Well, the states LIKE the money it puts into money bag and SFO has a nice little port that comes in real handy like.
Not sure but I think you have mistaken me for someone who is lobbying in favor of Calexit or Che or something....
Oh please don’t cry in here. Last time you cried on a thread we had mudslides. You have a soggy little straw man defense going there...don’t waste it.
I think it is.
I feel bad for the many good people in California.
