Read the article, friends...the import is that Obama will be using reverse psychology, drumming up base support for Trump because he believes Trump to be the easiest to defeat in the general election. The precedent is Claire McCaskill running anti-Todd Akin ads in the 2012 primary, so that GOP primary voters would vote for Akin, whom she perceived as being the easiest to defeat in the general (he was defeated, of course). Whether the article is on target or not is what we should be discussing here...

This strategy has a ring of self deception and arrogance, so it could have come from Obama's political shop.
In order to be successful, Hillary will have to separate herself from both Obama and Bubba. If Obama chirps at Trump it will make it impossible to do so. Trump will be able to run against Obama.
