Good thinking. Romney essentially blew us off because, I suppose, his team thought this area was not winnable. Now I had no intention of voting for Romney anyway, but it seems to me that the smart candidate should at least put in an appearance even in places that might seem like lost causes. Who knows how many members of the “silent majority” are out there?

I grew up in Connecticut, and while it was never and still isn’t a conservative hotbed, there are many people there who don’t care for the left all that much. I was a teenager when Reagan won in 1980 and even the moderates were excited about him after four years of Jimmy Carter. Connecticut went to Reagan as did every state in the northeast except Rhode Island. Not saying the same scenario plays out next year, but a few wins in the northeast will help elect a Republican next year. This needs to happen, and as I said earlier I think Maine, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania are doable for them. Let’s get it done and start taking this country back from the left.
