The MSM is trying to pick our candidate again. Most polls show Romney to be below Newt, who is below Cain. And, Newt has yet to experience the full wrath of the attack media.

If Romney got it, who do you think he would pick as a running mate? I have three in mind— Jeb Bush, Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain.

I pray we can keep Romney out.

This is the Establishment trying to ensure Obama another 4 years.

They want Cain out of there. They tried to sling mud at him and it did not work. Now they are trying to pretend everyone is for Mitt Romney. Please give me a break!

But didn’t you know? Mitt had a ‘moment of clarity’ after he became governor here in MA! He suddenly saw the light!

You obviously haven’t kept up on his flip-flop on this—uh, I mean, his coming to a new understanding...or whatever...

The problem with national polls is that Primaries aren’t fought nationally. Plus big Democrat states with open primaries skew the results naturally towards the liberal in the race as they did before Reagan was nominated. There was even an effort to recruit Gerald Ford for a Carter rematch. We know what really happened. Any time we see a national poll related to the primary we should just dismiss it because in the end it will not matter. The state by state polling makes by far the biggest difference but even those polls this far out aren’t predictive not when you still have as much as 1/3 of primary voters or more still undecided or not entirely committed.

Romney’s high polling has always been about his low key posture. He’s said to win a debate without often saying anything at all. He avoids all but very controlled media.
Its the same effect that we get with a politician who is out of office for a while. Their positives go up because people can’t remember what in the hell they did wrong.

Romney has the math against him. The problem is that we have Gingrich rising and Cain fighting a narrative that is designed to tear him down just like Palin. What he needs to do is bring on conservative military/foreign policy advisers and shuffle his team. He needs to stop the erosion and he needs to leverage his story and his expertise more.

I can't vote for Romney, it would mean an abandonment of much of what I've stood for in almost 50 years as a Republican.

I've made the "lesser of evils" choice before, and watched as the GOP moved ever farther left, and away from the Constitution.

I won't follow any farther.

Let me throw out what will probably prove to be a foolish question. With all of these polls being bandied about, does anybody know what percentage of voters will not vote for Romney under any circumstances?

If we want to return the Kenyan to the White Hut, make Romney the (R) nominee. That’s my opinion. I WILL NOT vote for Romney, period.

Any poll showing Romney is in double digits is a lie.

Romney, Dole, Bushes, McCain-—all cut from essentially the same cloth.
Can’t we run a CONSERATIVE this time?
Please?
Pretty please?
Pretty please with sugar on top???

I saw this too. It makes me marinate on two things...

1) Obama ads are attacking Romney. I haven’t seen a negative ad about any other candidate except him. Why do you think that is?

2) Obama seems to ignore Cain despite polls providing evidence that he should not. Why?

Is Cain just a niche candidate? Loved here, but essentially unknown to the average voter?

As much as I like Cain, I’m starting to think he’s nothing more than a novelty. Pity.

Romney = Low Republican Turnout = Obama Second Term.

Romney = McCain 2.0 = Dole 3.0 (the RINO machine / Media candidate)

Mitt has been running for 5 years and has only convinced about 25% of his own party to support him. How is it that people think he the guy who has the best shot at beating Obama?
