While communism in every form that it has been implemented has been an unquestionable failure (and it's utterly impossible to implement it in an "ideal" setup outside of Fantasyland), it is currently not illegal to advocate such an intellectually bankrupt economic system, though such advocacy could be considered when determining qualifications for an economics or political science professor (unfortunately many universities seem to see it as a positive quality rather than a negative one)
