"I wish I could.. but my mom doesn't know I smoke shhhhhh! LOL I am 25, married with 2 kids, and STILL afraid to tell her i smoke. I've done it off and on since I was 16. She's a freeper too so i hope she doesn't find this thread!"

The first step is to be open about your life choice. Be proud that you are an adult and can make choices for yourself. When your mom begins to lecture her, ask her if for some reason does she now think that you are not a "good" person. If she agrees then you know that the anti rhetoric even worked with your mom. Demonize the smoker, then outlaw the behaviour! Then you can begin to convince your mom, as a fellow freeper, to support your individual rights.

She actually smoked herself for 10 yrs and quit cold turkey. She now has asthma and tons of allergies and blames it on the smoking. Funny thing is one doctor told her she probably wouldn't have asthma now if she'd kept smoking because the tar layer in her lungs would've been sortof a protective layer for her (or something like that.)
