Question for everyone. How easy is it to recall a standing Governor? Has it ever been done before? I really, really despise Davis.

Three short months ago Republicans had a chance to send Davis packing. Check out the results and the low Republican voter turnout. A 70% Republican turnout would have been enough to beat Davis.

Sorry, but now Republicans have to pay for their apathy.

Quirk in CA law -- because turnout was so low in 2002, people think they have a shot at getting a recall election. They threshhold for signatures is relative to the turnout.

Heard Patrick Caddell on the radio last night. Even though he is a died-in-the-wool Dem, he is also leading an effort to recall Davis. It seems the California state constitution has a provision for doing so and the first step in the process is signature gathering. Based on the turn-out in the last election only about 100,000 signatures are needed. California residents/voters - watch for the signature drives.

Following getting the signatures and getting them certified, a special election would be called within eighty days.

This can be done!
