There is no Davis base vote to turn out in a special. Thus, it will be all of the anti-Davis people. This gives us a real opportunity to get a Governor who won't be destroying our state!

Are you kidding? Democrats, Republicans, Independents----they all hate Gray Davis!! We don't need to get our base out. I think there was an extraordinary turnout given the demonization that Davis was able to conduct against a poor candidate, Bill Simon. When people are given the choice just to vote up or down on Davis, they will vote overwhelmingly against Davis. This taps into the overwhelming vein of cynicism and hatred to politicians in general.
