Some of the women here who admit to smoking while pregnant need to have your heads examined. You make the claim that it had not effect on your baby as if it somehow vindicates your unthinking selfishness. Great, your kids were born healthy, that's something to be thankful for. If I was a pregnant women and there was any possibility that my smoking habit could cause harm to my unborn child, the least I could do would be to abstain until the child was born.
I appreciate the gist of your argument, that the anti-tobacco campaign is getting ridiculously out of hand. I concur. However it is hard for me to sympathize with someone who would place more importance on continuing a self-destructive habit than to temporarily curb said habit for the good of their unborn child.

You listen here: My daughter is 29 years old. Back when I was pregnant with her, we didn't HAVE anti smokers OR junk science thank God! My daughter never suffered from colds, flues or asthma. I also drank alcohol at parties and took aspirins when I had a headache, during pregnancy. She was still a big healthy baby! How about that!
I surely don't have to justify myself to you, but I want to tell you: ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! GET OFF THE BUS!

Smoking is no more harmful for a pregnant woman then a pregnant woman gouging herself with food and putting on 60 pounds which causes all KINDS of health dangers! For her AND for her baby!
My one friend didn't smoke but she ate until she weighed in at 210! The Doctor had to give her a C-Section a month early because the baby was in danger of the mother giving birth. So, don't tell ME that smoking can be worse. This gal was at great risk! And so was her baby!

Some of the women here who admit to smoking while pregnant need to have your heads examined. What, we should lie? This was back when there were ashtrays in the pediatricians' waiting room and a big overflowing ashtray on her desk.
