In Reno we had a non-smoking casino open up. It was the Ponderosa IIRC, and it didn't last a year I have heard this. But the anti's in here don't and won't believe it. ~sigh.......

The debate will now begin about whether smoking is bad or whether business will suffer or not. All those arguments are irrelevant.
The question is one of property rights, pure and simple. Any debate on other issues concedes those rights IMO.

If a Doctor told me to stop smoking I may as well die. Coffee and cigarettes enhance my quality of life. I love them both. You won't find SheLion without her coffee and cigarettes. They are both a big part of my life.

And it sure isn't conservative to be holding a rather socialist ideal that property owners and business owners can be told by the government what they may and may not allow on thier property.

You want to shoot us or imprison us?Neither. Just don't smoke where I breathe. Don't throw your butts on the sidewalk or on the roadside starting fires. Thank goodness for non-smoking hotel rooms where the furniture, spreads and carpets are not fouled with smoke and cigarette burns. Thank goodness for non-smoking restaurants and non-smoking planes. Thank goodness for non-smoking work places. Thank goodness that all those bad experiences are just memories now.

I stay away from Casino's too, but not because of second-hand smoke. No need to throw away my hard earned money on such nonsense.

There'll be a lot fewer smokers at $100 baccarat table than at the dollar slots.Nah, they just smoke expensive cigars instead.

It has become a pro-government authoritarian site by becoming captive to people who claim to be consevative.
If I was a consevative, I would be pist.

Each lived past the age of 95.I am sure genetics play a role, in that smoking won't affect some while in others it definately will cut the life span. The question is, do you know which type of genes you have? Do you want to take that gamble?

Thank goodness that all those bad experiences are just memories now.Thank goodness that people who do not like smoking have used government guns to remove property rights? They are the bedrock of free societies. The last of them are in the process of being eliminated.

Have smoking and non-smoking sections in the casinos. Problem solved.

You said a mouthful right there.Thank you, I was trying to.
Define the debate, or let your opponents define it.
To: SheLion
But it should be made by the owner and not Big Government. I agree with you 100% that the government should not dictate to businesses if smoking should be permitted in their establishments. However, in a thread yesterday about doctors and pharmacies opposed to selling cigarettes in drugstores you opposed that business decision. How, do you really feel?

If someone is blowing smoke in your face, say something to that individual. Personally, I have never known a smoker who was that rude.

When I go to a casino I bring $20, and see how long it lasts. I figure if I lose it, then it's like spending money on a show, I get a little entertainment out of it, and if I get to $100, I walk away with a nice 500% return.
