Isn't the "partial" adult status given to 18-21 year olds interesting? If I were in this age group, I'd be very active in informing lawmakers that I was no longer a minor and did NOT need to be protected.

They don't vote that's why legislatures get away with this type of thing. If they wrote letters, made phone calls, and voted legislators would think twice.
