Yes.
Is it your professional duty to inform patients that smoking is adversely affecting their health?
Yes.
May you be smug, rude, and look down your nose at smokers to encourage them to stop?
Yes.
Is it your right to create legislation to prevent people from smoking or engaging in other activities which harm their health?
No. It is not. And those who think it is are the cancer of a free society.

I'm a conservative in the true sense of the word. I do however object to the "smoking is not really bad for you - just look at Winston Churchill" mantra that passes for debate on our forum.
