Got to love my wonderfull state of Michigan, they just upped the state tax by $.50 per pack thinking they would increase their tax revenues. LOL! Whatever revenues they were receiving from me just went to the Indian reservations. MORONS!!!
FWIW, if it gets worse, I'm turning to the black market......
They finally drew the line and crossed it.....

They finally drew the line and crossed it..... The states sure did cross the line. They want to balance their budgets on the backs of the smokers, yet they say they want Smoke Free Everything! They sure aren't getting both!
Tickles me to no end the more people finally catch up and buy their cigarettes somewhere else or roll their own!

I'm curious if anyone has bought the online smokes which advertise American brand names (Marlboro, etc..) but are 'made' somewhere else? I remember during a trip in the Ukraine and Turkey a few years back the European versions of these were _not_ up to snuff with the American made ones. The tobacco was much more loosely packed and tasted different as well. Tapping down a 100 would sometimes result in the tobacco settling down almost a full inch.

The thing that sent me off to the web was Engler's proud announcement that the sole purpose of this tax increase was to balance the budget. He couldn't even be bothered to make up some lofty goal for it. That shows you how little they even care anymore about raising taxes on cigarettes. They feel they don't even have to justify it.
