It is a shame that the GM smokers will now have to work a full shift like their non-smoking co-workers. I just hate that the smokers will not be able to spend 40% of the work day smoking outside on a loading dock in the alley while discussing Nascar, Mullets, Ho Ho's and Britney Spears.

Bull hockey!
If you have to stop in the middle of a job to go take a smoke you better be worried because you ARE addicted.
I work a full day just like any of my coworkers. If I have time to take my allotted 15 minute break why are you going to bitch because I go outside and have a smoke? I take no more than my 15 minutes.

They are pigs, and their habit is unbelievably destructive to MY property.

OINK
Don't you think you are exaggerating just a teeny bit.
I have smoked for a good number of years and have found that with proper ventilation smoking doesn't have to be destructive to ANYBODY'S property.

Exactly, Joe!

When I worked and was busy, I didn't even THINK about smoking. Once work slowed down, I was able to run outside to have a quick break. What the hell is wrong with that!

I don't know where these people work where their smokers stand outside and smoke all day. To that I say: there is not enough work to keep them busy!

Smokers are the first on the job and the last to leave, smokers are brighter...

Feel free to show ignorance toward smokers...

Yeah, Lloyd. Use this guy's illogical, unscientific rant as an example.

Feel free to show ignorance toward smokers belittle and ridicule them that is what your mentors want, but please don't ever do it in front of me because most of the people that I love and respect are smokers including my family, after a decade of abuse smokers are now tempered and will take to task the abusers through our laws and the right to vote, I dont think the Cilntonesque anti smokers have abated that right just yet. Thanks for listening, me and 50 million other American smokers.

You said a mouth full there! And hit the nail right on the head!

Bull Hockey.
Never in the entire history of smoking has a smoker ever taken just 15 minutes during break. Floods, Riots, Fires, Famine, or Meteors have not been able to stop smokers from smoking 40% of the work day away. Don't play coy with me buddy. I am out there and I see in the recessions of dark depressed buildings, smokers huddled in despair while trying aimlessly to appear as if they have a viable reason to be milling about in the alley.

Listen here: your not going to lump ME in with smokers who take 40% of their work days smoking cigarettes.

I resent it, and I am sure others do as well. My job always came first. When and if I had time for a cigarette, I would grab it. But if not, I didn't even think about smoking. How dare you lump all smokers into your tight little wad of your life.

I cannot see for the life of me how non-smoking rules are bad for employee productivity.

Then you have got to check out post #116 above.
