Your right, those neg numbers are HUGE !!...and Simon can just do nothing but capitalize on them.
Simple comparison with our(CA) economy with the 37% increase in spending with the mid-teens increase in spending in the other leading state(Mass, NY) should just help drive Davis's negs up.
My wife thinks Gov. Davis posititve ad sucked...as did I.

Someday a poll of "legal" voters would be nice. Someday an election where only "legal" votes count would be nice. THIS is the main obstacle in getting conservatives elected in this country, particularly in California. It is a sad fact that your vote and mine most probably WILL be canceled out by illegal votes.

If we had a major earthquake and the five miles of coastline from Oregon to Mexico broke free and sank to the bottom of the Pacific, California would be the most conservative state in the union! Absolutely true. I lived in California's Central Valley (actually up in the foothills of the Sierras) and I'd rather live in this part of California than any other state. We are a God-fearing, gun-toting, flag-waving group of citizens.

I lived in California's Central Valley...make that live

Actually every vote for Nader in 2000 on the left coast was a take away vote from Goron!
The radical green envirals only vote for the Rats because they have been told to by their green leaders. Their relationship with the Rats is a very tenious one. If they vote for a third party green candidate out here, each of their votes take away from the rat total.
It works the same way votes for PeroRat did in 1992. Most of those votes would have been for President Bush if not sucked off by PeroRat.
That is why I would love to see the greens in Kali get 15+% of the vote this November. If this election is close, a even a 5 to 10% vote for the Green will devastate Davis's total vote %.
Good to hear from you! Are you working hard as usual this summer?

The Gray Ghost is supposed to be addressing the union that represents all of the Department of Public Social Services, in Los Angeles, coming up shortly!
Most of those who work with my child(ren) who is/are in that field can't stand him!
She talks up Simon and is doing well in that chat.

A 'Davis in trouble' ping
To: CubicleGuy
Huh?! Pete Wilson, the two term governor who was termed out as Davis came in! All of four (admittedly LONG) years ago.
The question SHOULD be, when will California get rid of this Democrat governor, the first one since Moonbeam Darling left office to go find himself at the Temple? At least Brown was entertaining. Davis is sickening.
As always,
To: Grampa Dave
Yes, working hard!. Here's to your naderite-sucking tactics!!! Hope they work!

My wife thinks Gov. Davis posititve ad sucked...as did I. It's always hard for me to judge because I'm biased ... I really, really, really dislike Gray Davis. But I thought his ad sucked, too. I thought that he looked sterile and unbelieveable, almost like a robot. He wasn't friendly.
And, anyway, I don't think it helps him to tout his "woman's right to choose" crap all the time. He's forgetting that half this state is pro-life -- and most of the pro-aborts are not as rapid as the pro-aborts on his staff. They are "quietly" pro-choice, and don't really want to think about it. He's forcing them to think about it, and I don't think that most people make their decisions on abortion ... except for those on both edges of the pro-life and pro-abort movement (I do consider myself a solid pro-lifer and will never vote for a pro-abort, Republican or Democrat.)

Thanks for the ping. This is truly good news.

Nah not Naderite Sucking, just helping those who can harm your enemy in ways that you can't in cases where the Naderites will not win either.
Nader is a very dangerous man. As the real data re the enviral nazis unfolds the next 4-6 years, he will be in charge of the Titanic Green Party. However, he can be a valuable tool to derail the Rats in Kali, the elections with Rat Senators this November and in 2004.

Well, lets hope Davis blows his entire war chest on summer ads. Go Simon!
To: ElkGroveDan
LOL at your key words!

I suspect part of the Dem strategy will be to try to take Davis off the hook by blaming "Big Oil" for the budget problems and of course Big Oil means Republicans and Simon is a Republican. Expect more Washington hearings and investigations into Enron, Williams Cos., etc. The fact that such investigations usually eventually show the Dems up to their eyeballs with these companies the timing will probably be such that this won't come out until after the election.

Okay, I'll admit I'm impressed. I've been
extremely skeptical in past threads about how well Simon was doing in the polls. But this story indicates that Davis' high negatives are dragging him down to such a degree that even Simon's so-far-unexceptional campaign has a chance of succeeding. Assuming the rumored poll results are being accurately reported, the source (Employee Services Union) would have been expected to bias the poll numbers towards Davis.
The next few weeks will be very telling. It appears that Davis will be spending $12 million while Simon continues to wait it out. But Davis is simultaneously being battered by the budget crisis, and more scandal details. If Simon is still tied or ahead of Davis a month from now, then Davis is indeed in deep sh!t. On the other hand, if Davis has pulled ahead by 10 or 15 points, then Simon is in deep sh!t.

Good analysis. Politics can be very dirty (especially with RATS). Just being willing to run the race shows a strong constitution.

I'm praying Simon will come through and with the limited funds is saving for August to kick in his campaign.

You may be right, but Simon wasn't the major gubernatorial candidate benefiting from Enron and energy company contributions ... you can guess who was ... including $140,000 from Enron chief Ken Lay.
Davis and Co. can lie and manipulate all they want, but some facts are so clear they can't be covered up.
Dump Davis!
