"'I read the report put out by the bureaucracy,' Bush said dismissivly... "
More to come, I'm sure
With all the political clout the Bush has and his 70%+ ratings and he should be able to convert everyone to conservatism. Gephart , Hillary, Al Gore and even Al Sharpton should be Bush bots by now.
Exactly! And even if this administration wont, supposedly, change any of its policies (or will be damn quiet about it if they do), a future administration *will*, and since it'll be a Dem administration (I would assume) that'll make use of it, they'll try to use this report to shut up the Republicans. "See?" they'll say, "The Republican Bush says there is global warming. It's a *fact*, and if you don't go along, you are going to Lose Big next election."
What are the Republican going to tell their consitutants next election when this gets brought up in a debate? Oh...it was just a bunch of bureaucrats. Does anyone think that'll fly with the voters? Heh. Hell no.
The political damage caused to the conservative movement by this report will go on for a long time.
Tuor
With you holding a handful of pearls heading towards a pigpen.
Clearly the administration dropped the ball, this will be remembered as one of the uglier moments of the 8 Bush years, the administration's "ketchup is a vegetable" incident.
This incident was a tempest spun off the Northwest coast of the NY Times, ginned up into hurricane Limbaugh by an unusually hard blowing rush of winds.
Its already blown out to sea, with no landfall.
Man, you ARE fast, aren't you? :-)
Regarding the post about "Bush having a lot better information than we do," yeah, I see a lot of stuff like that on here; I also see a lot of "other" people acting like they have inside information. Take it all with a grain of salt.
Personally, I cannot imagine how any one man could know everything. Hell, I don't even know what's going on downstairs at my house right this minute!
That's some mighty fine tinfoil you're wearing, Because I know you didn't read that anywhere, just like you didn't read report yesterday, You and Mr. Ratings Limbaugh have some serious egg on your face
It saddens me to witness the lack of faith some freepers have in our President. The benefit of the doubt is withheld in every instance and the implication is that he deserves no more respect or trust than the previous president.
BTW, I do disagree with the President from time to time. It just depends on the color tie he's wearing. For example, on days when he wears a yellow tie, everything he says is crap. But days with blue, red, orange, and lavendar ties are great. :-p
If you are talking about the NAS Climate Report, it was released. The whole report is for sale, a short summary is here
Bush's press release where he explains his policy based on NAS is President Bush Discusses Global Climate Change (courtesy of deport)
I still can't get over the fact that Rush got lazy...
Hannity & Colmes did. You REALLY seem to be underestimating how much global warming is part of the fabric. It is de rigeur as far down as elementary schools. It is ingrained. The more it is talked about, the weaker the foundations.
PS: Have you seen the movie King Pin?
Have you ever listed to Under Wraps? *shudder*
Oh, yeah. Right. If that was the case, you'd think Rush would have done a lot more of getting Bush to do the things he's always saying Bush "should do," wouldn't you?
Maybe Bush has much more class than handing a head on the platter like you frothing mouths want.
Personally I beleive that the recriminations will be discrete.
