FBI Goes to 9-11 Mosque to Recruit!

At least six of the Sept. 11 terrorist Muslim hijackers lived in Paterson, N.J. Now the FBI is nosing around the heavily Arab town - not to root out terrorists, but to recruit!

Even as FBI whistle-blower Robert G. Wright Jr. warns of how the bureau's politically correct fear of offending Muslims helped cause 9-11, the agency becomes even more P.C. It plans a job fair Saturday at Paterson's leading mosque, Islamic Center of Passaic County, the Associated Press reported today.

"Sure, people will have reservations," said Mohamed Younes, the mosque's president. "But we are part of this community, all of it."

John Page, supervisory agent in the FBI's West Paterson office, said: "The pitch will be no different than it would to any other group. We're hoping to convey that it would be a terrific occupation that would let them serve their country."

New Jersey's Muslims, however, are skeptical.

"It sounds like they're looking for people from the community to use to get at other people in the community," complained Ali Erikenoglu.

"Are these people going to be used as pawns against the community?" asked Hani Awadallah, president of Paterson's Arab-American Civic Organization. "You wonder."

Oh, we wonder, all right.

Can't these guys recruit Christian Arabs? There was a story on FR the other day about a muslim FBI agaent that refused to be wired to record other muslims, as muslims do not do that to each other. This jerk will tape any of us but not a suspected Muslim terrorist.

Yep, that's just what we need, MORE muslim agents that will refuse to do their jobs. They are LIABILITIES, not assests.

It's absolutely necessary. After 9/11, the gov't was caught flat-footed, with a real scarcity of Arab and Farsi (Persian) speakers. These languages are barely taught in colleges and in virtually no high schools.

Not only do US agencies need agents with language skills, they need agents familiar with the cultures and mannerisms. If you have to go undercover in an Arab community, it makes far more sense to be of Arab and/or other Muslim ancestry (Iranian, Iraqi, Pakistani etc.)

The problem is, are the agents recruited from these communities loyal?
