SACRAMENTO - California's head of e-government was abruptly forced from office late Wednesday after an internal investigation discovered that his brother worked for a Silicon Valley company that won nearly $800,000 in state business.
Less than a month after taking the job vacated by another Davis aide at the center of the scandal, Vin Patel became the third administration official to resign amid an expanding probe of state technology deals.
