The invitation to young Democrats at UC Berkeley was enticing, offering an unusual opportunity to speak with their party's leader, Gov. Gray Davis, only a few days after he won the March primary.
But there was a catch.
"I am sure all of you know students and young professionals who are politically interested," said the letter from Mike Montgomery, a fund-raiser for Davis. "This is a great opportunity to interact with the governor for a mere $100."

Remember, Clinton would have been just running for president for the first time compared to Davis in terms of political power/experience. Imagine what Davis would do to the country if he served two terms as president. On second thought, don't. You may want to sleep nights.
What the heck is going on?
Now, I wouldn't be too impressed there, it's Saturday's paper. For some reason, I think the piece is important enough to be in an edition on the paper people will read. But what do I know?
