Bush Appoints More Homosexual Activists
By Stuart Shepard, correspondent

SUMMARY: President Bush has quietly appointed four homosexual activists to mid-level spots in his administration.

The homosexual political group, Log Cabin Republicans is applauding President Bush for appointing four of its members to posts in the administration.

"President Bush has just done a phenomenal job and his approval ratings in the gay and lesbian community are higher than any Republican president has ever enjoyed," said Kevin Ivers, director of public affairs for the Log Cabin Republicans. "I think that these appointments actually reflect the core values of the Republican Party going back to the beginning, and certainly the core values of this president that qualified people who merit positions will get them."

The four were named to mid-level spots in the State Department, the Federal Transit Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Bob Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute, is disappointed, but not surprised, at the appointments.

"We wouldn't be surprised that some homosexuals are among many hundreds of appointments made by the president," Knight said. "What makes these interesting is that they're homosexual activists working within the Republican Party to try to undermine the pro-family view toward homosexuality."

Former Republican presidential candidate and activist Gary Bauer was harsher in his criticism: "I think the administration is going in exactly the wrong direction and runs the risk of insulting and alienating its Evangelical and Catholic supporters."

Bauer, who heads American Values, said mid-level positions are where government work actually gets done.

"Personnel is policy," Bauer said. "When you place these sorts of appointees in government positions, it is absolutely predictable that their biases on homosexuality will affect the decisions that they make."

The Washington Blade, a homosexual newspaper published in Washington, D.C., reports that at least 15 more homosexual appointments are in the works.

Bush had previously named Wisconsin Log Cabin Republican leader Scott Evertz as director of the Office of National AIDS Policy -- making him the highest- ranking homosexual to serve in a Republican administration.

Evasive Bush is pro-gay agenda, helping activists influence government. He should just be honest.

Gotcha. I'm sure the "biases" these folks inject into family-sensitive areas like transportation and the environment will infect our souls, grow hair on our hands and bring the world to a fiery end! You're a marginal, nattering little geek, Gary, and you always have been.

People, it's not like Bush appointed the President of Dykes on Bikes to be Secretary of HHS! Having moral and theological qualms about homosexuality is one thing, and I happen to agree with you. Yes, it's unequivocably a sin, but not a one of you is without sin. When they start organizing Gay Pride Marches at the GOP Convention, protest. Until then, chill out.

Isn't that kinda like putting Sarah Brady in charge of national firearms policy?

Turn a blind eye if you wish. No one cares about their sex lives. But, we do care that they are gay activists. Big difference, imo. Also, Bush appointed a gay as ambassador to Romania, a strategic move to promote the gay agenda because Romania is being told they cannot joint the EU if they don't change their gay policy. (I need to double check my facts on that but I think that's right.) Bush is pro-gay. He is pro RLC (L = Leadership; not the Liberty one). They are also pro-gay. He needs to come out of the closet on this issue.

From one conservative to another, thank you for common sense! This hardly comprises accomadating a radical homosexual agenda in any way, shape or form

It appears Gary has had a change of heart since the presidential primary season when he stumped in Virginia with McCain; a man who harshly criticized and demonized "Evangelical and Catholic supporters" in every speech. I never could figure out why Bauer had hitched himself to that doomed message and candidate.

The focus on the family link works for me, although I don't see the specific story headlined under this title. Knowing Bush, I can believe what is described could be on his agenda.

You are known by the friends that you make. He has Fox of Mexico as a special friend, and now the gays and lesbians of the nation.

I understand what you're saying about Bauer. I still can't believe he sided with McCreep. Bauer was pro CFR too, though, so that didn't stand in his way.

All I am saying is BE CAREFUL. I see the signs. They are all there. Bush is evasive and so you can't go by what he says. I was where you are with the first two appointments, but the Romanian one really got me. Then the appointment of a pro-gay GOP head. (Raciot) Now this. Just stay awake and pay attention or we will be duped again.

How is it possible that you do not understand that we are not simply concerned about their "sins?" The gays and lesbians of this nation have an agenda, and Bush is helping them promote it by appointing these people to such influential positions. Good Lord, the Bush supporters need to open their eyes and try to see things as they are rather than what they think they are.

"Bush is evasive and so you can't go by what he says. "

Never, never, never go by what a politician tells you. What is important are the results of his or her actions. That is how you can tell what they really think and what they plan to do.

Maybe Howlin can 'splain how clever this move is.

Now, in all fairness to you folks who trust jr. to do most of what he says he'll do, this IS one of those rare occasions -------- Bush Says He Won't Hesitate to Appoint Gays to Jobs

Of course "He Can Win" was the rallying Call at the time the article was posted.
