American casualties are a good sign. It means the military is doing its job.
To be an effective critic, you must also know when to praise. In the five short months since the beginning of combat action in Afghanistan by U.S. forces, our military has shown a remarkable ability to learn as it fights. The broadcast media, by comparison, has fought the opportunity to learn. As I write, various television and radio networks are trumpeting reports of half a dozen or so American combat deaths in tones reserved for catastrophes. The reportage is naive, irresponsible--and just plain wrong.

The HEROES who died in defense of our freedom are transformed by the left into victims of the "GOP's military industrial complex selfish attempt to win more defense contracts"
We are surrounded by enemies both foreign and domestic.
The struggle of Israel to survive the Islamic hoardes agression is a telling example.
The farce of the "Saudi plan", a plot hatched by a PR firm in the employ of the evil Saudi government, is already being heralded by liberal media throughout the western world as a panacea for what ails the region.
The truth is that Israel will be forced to accept a retreat to it's indefensible pre-1967 borders by a promise by the Arab League of all entities, to "normalize relations" with Israel.
Note that the lack of language recognizing Israels very right to exist is no longer even an issue to the leftists.
If Israel accepts the "Saudi Plan", it will be exterminated.
If it does not, WWIII is soon to follow.
I don't care. Vomit-is as vomit-does........FRegards
Did anyone ever mention a Section 8?
What IS up your butt, anyway?
But is it possible they just didn't have the correct gauge of how strong a level of resistance to expect?
Stuff happens.
BTW, I saw the last half of one of my all-time favorite war films tonight: The Bridges at Toko-Ri with Grace Kelly (libido alert) and Bill Holden.
The last half-hour of that movie, especially the end-scene between the carrier skipper and the CAG, pretty much hits the nail on the head for this entire discussion.
"Where do we get such men?"
This war is our common national experience. And "they also serve who only stand and wait."
FWIW, I did NOT choose the title. Hit the hyperlink for the article, and see for yourself... Incidentally, I do agree with you, regarding your assessment. However, I thought it would be only fair, to headline it with the same title I saw it under, from the www.WorldnetDaily.com website. After reading the article, and realizing that it was written by a real patriot, who has done his time in the trenches... I decided to post it as he intended it to be seen...
Of course, the weak-kneed, who don't understand this, will be in a complete snit over this, and will continue to not understand...
FReegards,
You may feel that way, but your feelings don't mean anything when compared to reality.
It would be the same thing as saying, "only a woman" can understand what it is like to be raped... This is NOT to make light of such an occurence. But how can a man understand what that experience is like, for a woman...?
To argue that you do understand, is so patently absurd as to make me (almost) embarrassed for you. You make a fool of yourself, and then tell me I'm being trite???
Yeah, I'll buy that for a dollar! < /sarcasm >
On my boat, it was "go take a flying f~~ck at a rolling donut, in a stiff wind, over broken glass..."
But, I digress... 8^)
Nice to know others out there still got it!
Be well,
But to complain about my HAIR color or screen name is a real cop-out. And for your information, my hair is red.
Your point?
Maybe you might want to look at that, before complaining more, about the title.
CE
In war, soldiers do die, but only someone with a really deaf ear could add that American casualties are a good sign.
Then I might suggest that you read the entire article, before sticking your foot in your mouth....
Because you obviously don't understand it, didn't read the discussion following the article, and certainly didn't read post #48.
Going back and re-reading the above, might preclude having to "nibble" on your other foot...
These individuals took a righteous stand when they chose to honor and sustain the law of the land rather than run off to Canada while their countrymen bled and died amidst circumstances which were anything but clear and well-defined.
It will be well with them when they one day stand before their Heavenly Father under whose hand this choice land was established to serve as the base of operations for His work on earth in these latter days.
And great men whom we both revere as Prophets, Seers, and Revelators on many occasions have said as much....
