Hey I didn't call you an idiot. Just disagree with you. How many canidates branded Republican or conservatives have won state wide office last 8 years? Riordan is a Republican although he successfully did not brand himself as such. You know why? Because we are not the majority out there. Last time I checked not the person with the best ideas and qualities win. The person with the majority votes do. With that said, I hope your right and I'm wrong.

I dunno... how many Republicans have attempted to run on conservative principles during the past eight years?

The last one I can remember was the Claremont Institute's very conservative Bruce Herschenson, who only lost by a hair's breadth (to Barbara Boxer's cheap shot tactics) in '92.
