He could have said that in the first sentence and save me a lot of time from reading this rah-rah piece. I remember this same press saying that McCain was the only guy who could beat Algore. No doubt the sling and arrows would come from this guy in the general election trashing Riordan had he won.

The press in Cali is pro Simon. Simon is the McCain for Davis. The reason the liberal press in Cali and Davis spent 10 million to defeat Riordan is because like G.W. Bush Riordan had the best chance to beat Davis, as G.W. Bush had best shot to beat McCain. You can always tell our friends by who the media attacks. They have been attacking Riordan, not Simon. With that said I am a Republican, never ever a Demorat and I agree with the writer.
