Seems to me the Pharisees were actually criticized by Jesus for seeking signs. Signs as signs aren't necessarily a bad thing. The bad thing is what is done with them by some people.
Ah, the unbelief of the religious!

I am heartened that conservative catholics have the discernment to know Medjugorje cannot be true.
You stated: "Things like this just make me so grateful to God for the wonderful joy and freedom of being a BIBLICAL Christian!"
Please keep in mind that what you are referring to is "Solo Scriptura", or living your faith by only the Bible. While the Bible is great, containing the teachings and Gospels, it's not enough. Historically, there was no Bible until roughly 300AD, meaning that the Church had put together the Bible through the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Thus, you must also live by what the Church teaches through Sacred Tradition. Before Jesus, there was no Bible... it was only after Jesus had died, that the Catholic Church gave the world the Bible. So by you stating that your are a Biblical Christian, you are missing out on a lot of the dogmas and mysteries. Please reference Matt 16:18-19 , in which Jesus leaves the Church in the hands of Peter (the rock). Peter was the first Pope of the Catholic Church.
Oh, BTW... Catholics are Christians. "Catholic" means universal, as Jesus had come down to create a faith for all, not just the Jews...
Medjugorje has not been deemed false nor true. With apparitions, the investigation starts by the Church to identify what the fruits are, meaning what has come from the appearance. That is the reason the Catholic church has not made an official statement.
Since the claims that the apparition is still appearing, a statement cannot be made yet. Once the appearance ceases, then a full assessment can then be made with regards to the fruits. Nevertheless, since the initial claims of the appearance, it has brought thousands if not millions closer to GOD through additional prayer that may not have happened otherwise. So from today's standpoint, it is doing a good job... but is it authentic? We'll have to wait until the Catholic Church deems it so...
The Bible is absolutely sufficient for Christians (2 Timothy 3:15-17), and while Christians are catholic, no sect advocating a damning grace-plus-works "gospel" (Galatians 1:8-9), de facto worship of dead people, and countless layers of Bible-nullifying manmade tradition has the right to the name "Christian."
Dan
Two bishops spoke and wrote about it, and a commission with a great majority deemed nothing supernatural was happening there.
Naturally, whether it is true or a hoax, it is good for the church because of the enthusiasm and publicity. A lot of people have converted to the catholic faith because of Medjugorje, further contaminating the purity of truth. It is not good for me, because it has made me mistrust the church on discernment. It has driven me away from the church because I don't like deceptions and lies.
One would hope that church leaders would issue more powerful statements warning the flock. They don't. They look the other way because it is pragmatic. It's win win for them whether it is true or not. I do not believe the Jesus Christ I believe in would be pleased.
My sponsor, and many priests, were into all kinds of crazy things. I don't want to be contaminated with any of those things any more. I've put it all behind me now. Maybe I should take down that page. People will believe what they want to believe.
