JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt filed for re-election Monday with a prediction that Democrats would win enough other races to regain a majority and make him speaker of the House.

Gephardt's candidacy filing in Jefferson City was sandwiched between those of two Republican colleagues -- Reps. Kenny Hulshof of northeast Missouri's 9th District and Todd Akin of the 2nd District in suburban St. Louis.

I probably should have put this under "Humor". No wonder Rush refers to Little Dicky as "El Poco Loco Dicko".

It ALL hinges on this: If Republicans stop vote fraud in the form of illegal aliens voting, Republicans win. If not, Gephardt is right. I am not optimistic.

Boy, I hope you are wrong. With a strong economy, and continued high poll numbers by George Bush, Democrats will have a hard time convincing the American public to change horses in mid-stream.

However, rules and fair play never stopped a Democrat from cheating at the ballot box.

Don't get complacent.
There are tons of toadies willing to bootlick this clown and his left-wing cronies into a Dimocrat-misled House of Non-Representatives.

Bwahahaha!!! The Rats AND RINOs already enjoy a defacto House majority. The Rats winning 6 more seats to take over outright would simply make it official. There hasn't been a conservative Republican House majority since 1998, for gosh's sakes. Dick "Poco Loco" Gephardt isn't telling us anything that isn't news already.

I am certainly not optimistic.

I live in the newly created 39th congressional district in California. Tomorrow is the primary. There are 4 Dems and 1 Republican in the primary. The California Republican Party is not supporting the candidate. He has a war fund of 3K against the Democrats 300K.

It appears the California Republican Party is content to simply give away a House seat to the Dems. Looks like we might have both a House and a Senate controlled by the Dems.

Watch your pocketbooks folks! Taxes will be going up.

Based on historical results, DG is correct; but hopefully, the people have had enough of the Dems, will avoid the snake oil the 3rd parties are selling, and will vote GOP. It's hard for anyone to predict it this far out anyway; so DG is just guessing at this point.....

Perhaps Little Dick Gephardt has been sharing a bong or two of some of that sh*t that DascHOLE has gotten ahold of. You think that Kerry is their supplier? Or has Roger Clinton been hanging around the Capitol Building lately?

``I think we're going to win the House back, I really do. I'm very optimistic about it,'' Gephardt said before filing for re-election in the St. Louis area's 3rd District.

When a guy has to convince you he means it by saying "I really do." You can bet the farm he really don't!

Does this sound convincing to you people?
I think he knows that they (Democrats)are going to lose big time.

What else is he supposed to say? He's been saying that since 1994 when the GOP took it over.

I'm pretty sure Gephardt is wrong here but we still need to work it. No time for complacency. Redistricting has helped in some states but I don't think the overall effect is as great as the GOP had hoped.
