Dennis Prager, nationally syndicated radio host, is explaining right now why we should vote for Bill Simon. He said the last time the democrats attacked the moderate in hopes that the conservative Republican would win, it backfired in their face. Case in point: Ronald Reagan.
At the time of his gubernatorial election, Reagan was a nationally known actor and a seasoned conservative speaker.
Simon, by comparison, is a previously unknown rich kid who tells people one-liners they want to hear, and doesn't even bother to vote!
Whoever came up witht his line of thinking, should apologize to the Reagan family!

I'm still debating someone who wants to vote for Riordan because he thinks Riordan is the only one who can beat Davis, and obviously Davis feels the same way.
Let's face it: Riordan has alienated the GOP base. Even if the Republican diehards will come out and vote against Davis in November by voting for Riordan, there will be no mandate, and most conservatives will stay at home. Riordan is TOO LIBERAL to win. He will not bring over Democrats to vote for him when he and Davis agree on so much.
In addition, his flip-flops and gaffes will make RIORDAN the race, not Davis' failed energy, education and budget politics.
Simon has the BEST CHANCE of beating Davis, and Riordan would have been chopped liver. Thank goodness it looks like Riordan is going to lose.
Now, we have to hit the ground running with Simon.
Yes, Simon made mistakes by not voting, but let's face it: would we rather have a conservative who missed a couple elections than a RINO who probably voted for more Democrats than Republicans?
The choice is clear: Bill Simon is our best hope of unseating Gray Davis, a principled conservative who has already proven that he is likeable and smart, a movement conservative who -- like Reagan -- can broaden the Republican base and reach out to swing Democrats because he is compassionate, principled, friendly, and warm.
Go Simon!
When Simon failed to vote, the Republican candidate lost ONE VOTE.
When Riordan publicly and loudly endorsed Feinstein, the Republican candiate lost THOUSANDS OF VOTES.
Which do you think was worse?
P.S. The elections which Simon failed to vote in were Primary elections; this means that Simon had no voice in which Republican candidate received the Republican nomination; it DIDN'T help the Democrats at all, and had NO EFFECT on the General Election where there was a clear choice between a Republican and a Democrat.
Let's face it, not only is Simon without any experience, but in the face of Davis' $50 million ad machine, he's toast in the General Election. Why vote in, a guaranteed loser?
