Praise God! Good 'ol preacher's son...he just had a little longer rebellious period than most. Now he is a great example. Everything is for a reason. If he hadn't rebelled, and gotten a following...and then come back, he wouldn't have as much impact as he does now. God has his own purposes for things!

I suppose everyone knows Elvis was the son of an Assembly of God preacher.
I forget the percentage--but it's a large one--a large percentage of counselors have parents who were ministers or missionaries or some such. . . . regardless of the religious orientation of the counselors.
Not sure what all that means. But there seems to be some carry over in terms of music relating to the soul/spirit. and caring for others relating to the soul/spirit.

He also knows what's in the heart. Some prostitutes and drunks are closer to being saved than some church-goers. The best "moral" people are not morally pure - they just avoid certain behaviors, most of which they're not strongly attracted to anyway. I'm glad about this - when I heard the guy sing "I got no friends 'cause they read the papers", it was kinda poignant to me. Praise God for His goodness!
