Praise God! Good 'ol preacher's son...he just had a little longer rebellious period than most. Now he is a great example. Everything is for a reason. If he hadn't rebelled, and gotten a following...and then come back, he wouldn't have as much impact as he does now. God has his own purposes for things!

Cool, he's still an ugly sucker though ;-)

A couple of years ago I was on a plane to Burbank and he was on it. He came up to me at Baggage Claim and started a conversation. He seemed like a really nice guy...

The first time I saw Alice was at the Cincinnati Pop Fest of 1970 at Crosley Field where Alice was hit in the face with a creme pie by an audience member. Iggy and the Stooges were on the bill and Iggy did his famous peanut butter act. Both of these scenes are now famous and are played often in various VH-1's Behind the Music and other music documentories . The entire day long event was video taped by a local TV station. Sure wish I had a copy. I've been searching for years. Anybody know where I can get one? Freepmail if you know.
Ahh, those were the days! I'm glad we've both matured!

I suppose everyone knows Elvis was the son of an Assembly of God preacher.
I forget the percentage--but it's a large one--a large percentage of counselors have parents who were ministers or missionaries or some such. . . . regardless of the religious orientation of the counselors.
Not sure what all that means. But there seems to be some carry over in terms of music relating to the soul/spirit. and caring for others relating to the soul/spirit.

I met Marilyn Manson in a chat room once.

Are you still in the Cincinnati area?
My husband attended that event also. I'm surprised he never mentioned AC though since we were both big fans.

He seemed like a really nice guy... Others have said that. Once you get past the stage persona, he appears to be a very polite and considerate person.
James Randy, of all people, used to do some kind of debunking bit as part of the show "Alice" used to tour with. I remember him on the Tonight Show once remarking how he thought "Alice" was the nicest person he'd ever known. Just shows ta go ya...

He came up to me at Baggage Claim and started a conversation. He obviously has extraordinary taste. You're quite the cutie. If only I were single...... and not so darn ugly.....{;-)
Love that astronaut picture, by the way.

"he continues to record and theatrical horror-style show" You can't live like hell and expect to go to heaven. "by their fruits, you shall know them.
To: BlueCrab
He has avoided "celebrity Christianity," because "it's really easy to focus on Alice Cooper and not on Christ. I'm a rock singer. I'm nothing more than that. I'm not a philosopher. I consider myself low on the totem pole of knowledgeable Christians. So, don't look for answers from me." For this he should be commended.

Ephiphany? Experience? Nah....it's about what God does, not what we do.
