It's insulting to see all of you guys say the parents were at fault or negligent in this case based on gossip. I don't think you're reading all of the words in my posts because I've said more than once that I'm not supporting their lifestyle if indeed the gossip is true.. take care..gotta go for now.

There are risks regardless of what we do. Staying at home under the bed does not keep one safe from the ceiling falling in unexpectedly. However, some risks are just plain reckless. Here in Oklahoma, there is a saying: if you lie down with dogs, you get fleas. Essentially, if you hang out with lowlifes, you get lowlife kinds of problems. Do lowlifes sometimes masquerade as pious churchgoers? Of course. But your chances of finding a lowlife are really much higher if you go go places where lowlifes go. Bringing said lowlifes home is, to me at least, an uncceptable risk. It goes far beyond bringing a churchmember home for dinner--the expectation there is that this is a decent Christian person. The expectation with a barfly is considerably lower.

I'm not judging anyone. Many of us are insulted to see these parents convicted based on gossip..

Gosh, I pray that the gossip isn't true.. I agree with what you're saying .... Many people in rural areas don't want others to know they own guns because of a fear of the guns being stolen. But to advertise it would reduce one's chances of being victimized while at home..if the perp knows the homeowner.

This is most certainly true. I hope that they have arrested the guilty party and the quick work will have been beneficial.

I guess I can't rid myself of the uneasy feeling about this van Dam couple. At least I don't feel alone when I find so many that get the same uneasiness. Maybe we are wrong, but they (van Dams) sure seem to negatively impress many observers.

I couldn't care less what kind of a "deviant" lifestyle anyone lives, as long as the children don't suffer the consequences.

As far as the forum judging the van Dams on rumor and innuendo, it is after all a "forum" and on the average, the result has been "where there's smoke, there's fire"...so you are entitled to have your head in the clouds, and we are entitled to come down to earth.

I know Danielle Van Dam disappeared and body found... who is murderer and why all the questions to the parents?

I have always been curious about how they honed in on this guy in the first place. What lead them to him? (I haven't been able to follow this story as closely as I would have liked to. It disturbed me from the beginning, these kiddnapping stories never turn out well.)

That would make you the ONLY person to have heard that report on Fox.

FOX has reported on the disappearance, but not once have they raised the "lifestyle" question.
