You are correct. No need to stoop to their level. The prisoners at Camp x-ray should simply be euthanized. Dead is dead. Cutting their heads off won't make them any deader.

They won't be killed, but they will probably be imprisoned for the rest of their days. We are somewhat sensitive to world opinion, but believe me, world opinion will continue to scream and yell no matter what we do short of letting them loose with $5,000 walking around money ("Not enough," says French Prime Minister).

So we have to do what we know is right. We don't hand out the death penalty lightly, no matter what the loonies on the anti-Capital Punishment fringe might think. In the end, it may be kinder to kill them than what's in store for them.

But whatever we will do, it will NOT be in retaliation for Daniel Pearl. We don't play that way, and that's why we're better than "they" are.
