Stay away from S Asia: Pakistan to Israel

Apparently perturbed by increasing Indo-Israeli defence cooperation and a possible sale of Phalcon spy plane to New Delhi, Pakistan has asked the Jewish state not to get involved in South Asia.

Senior Pakistani officials conveyed this message to a high-ranking Israeli official in Paris last week, Hebrew daily MaFariv reported.

"Don't become involved in our region so that we are not dragged into doing something similar in your region," the paper quoted officials as saying.

Israeli defence sources said security cooperation between New Delhi and Tel Aviv was not targeted at any country. Allaying fears that the sale of Phalcon Airborne Warning and Control Systems could disturb the military balance in South Asia, the sources said: "At the end of the day it's a defence system which cannot change the balance in the region."

Defence partnerships between New Delhi and Tel Aviv has raised concern among few Arab countries in the past.

During an international conference on missiles in Paris last week, a Pakistani official expressed similar concern about possible Israeli sales of AWACS and Arrow anti-ballistic missile defence systems to India.

"We are deeply concerned that there are sales of anti-ballistic missile defence systems and advanced airborne early warning abilities, which ignore the need of stability in our region," he said.

Earlier, Israel made it clear that there was no pressure from the United States against the Phalcon sale and that it was up to New Delhi to decide on the spy plane deal.

Israel wants to sell three Phalcons to the Indian Air Force and the two sides have been negotiating the estimated $1 billion deal for quite some time now. The radar systems of the Phalcons will extend the IAF's range of operation and will give India control and monitoring capabilities from the sky.

Israel has become India's second largest arms supplier after Russia, which include sea-to-sea missiles, surveillance systems, upgradation of India's Soviet-era tanks and aircraft, border monitoring equipment, night vision devices and intelligence cooperation.

I told you I was against Islamic terror. I'm also against Israeli terror as well. Actually, I'm against all terror, IRA terror, African terror, etc. Terror is a drag, you know. It upsets my sensitive feelings.

Madiuq...Madiuq...adults are communicating here. Aren't you better off with one of your incessant posts about India or something instead of trying to interrupt our discussion? Yehuda is a big girl, she can fend for herself.

You're right, America gives foreign aid to many nations, although Israel takes up between 33-50% of that foreign aid budget. I don't like foreign aid to anybody, they should fend for themselves just like America does. If they can't support themselves why should America have to support them? Is America some welfare agency for the whole world while 13% of Americans live in poverty? See, Yehuda, my loyalty is undivded. I want Americans to come first when it comes to receiving aid, not foreigners, no matter who they may be. You don't like that because your loyalty, unlike mine, is divided, between Israel and America, so you have these internal conflicts.

And you have to love those zany British, sipping tea and calmly handed the problems stemming from their wild nation-building antics after Empire to those brave American peace-keepers of today.

Thoughtful post, bro. You are right on target, as it seems the world is still paying for the sins of the British. Drawing up national boundaries where no nations ever existed (Africa); stirring up the Wahabbi fruitcakes of the House of Saud against the Turks and the Hashemites; Palestine and Israel... The list goes on and on!

The British Empire: The gift that keeps on giving.

I think an alliance between Hindus and Jews against the Muslims would be appropriate. They've both suffered much at the hands of the followers of Muhammed

Excellent point.

In due course, I expect the entire civilized world (except the French), will need to eradicate the Islamic menace in the interest of self preservation.

I don't see any good reason to keep them around anymore.

Why should the U.S. care about its flank when it can't even protect its borders? That's where the real change will come from Yehuda baby. All those poor Hispanics and educated Asains and a declining Jewish/white population don't bode well for continuing aid to Israel. Jewish fertility in this country is 1.6, they're dying off as is the white population in general (Although the number very recently have gone to 2.1 babies per woman---I see this as temporary, previously the rate in the 1990s was 1.84). Hispanics have high fertility (3.45 babies per woman), and Asains are rising up through education just like the jews have done. That is the future, and like I wrote, Hispanics and Asains really don't care much about Israel. Islam is the fastest growing religion in this country, like it or not.

This sounds like a direct threat to sell/give a nuke to the PLO or Hamas maybe.

The sites were from many sources which I cited including the U.S.S. Liberty website. I also site McGonagle "Letter to President Clinton." I wrote before that I believe that foreign aid is not a good thing, especially when there 13% of the U.S. population is living in poverty.

The demographic information is avaible from the U.S. Census. You can look it up.Actually, look up the Califonia Census website. It is more dramatic and will more readily show the America that is to come. Always said Islamic terror was bad just like any other terror. You still can't site where I said terror of any kind was a good thing, and now you're getting desperate, as your higher level of hysterics with each post shows.

Yehuda baby, you're running out of ideas. This post wasn't as innovative as your earlier ones and in that sense I am disappointed. Relax...nothing will change in the aid package for Israel...for now. Twenty years from now, of course, things might be different. The country is changing demographically, Yehuda. You'll have to come up with better ideas than this if you want to have the same kind of support for Israel now as you want to have then.

"Koba" is a common name. It was the name for a hero of books in Asia so I took that name. I did'nt know that it was the name of a middle eastern place. No, I won't go there---we're doing well enough here. My offer for you to go to Israel is still open though.
