LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The FBI has issued an alert to 350 law enforcement agencies in the southwest and Salt Lake City for potential Valentine teddy bear bombs after a suspicious transaction at a Wal-Mart last month.
Law enforcement sources said authorities also were on the alert at airports in case the suspected bear-bombs might be carried onto airplanes on Valentine's Day.

RE:In other news, a Govt bear was seen bording a black, umarked helicopter.
Man... that just made my morning. :-)

I just realized I spelled boarding wrong. Man, need either sleep or coffee, can't decide which.

TWO different bears? I've seen two different pictures this morning. One the white bear and the other a Red Bear with 2002 embroidered on the paw. Can't we even get the networks to agree on which bear is the evil bear?
Glad Mr. Spectre gave me a darling gold cross this morning, unless it's radioactive?!! Naahhhh.

That's a horrible use for propane and propane accessories. If arsonists were known to roam in your neighborhood, wouldn't you call the police if you saw someone wandering with a gasoline tank?
THe rule of comepting harms would say you are doing the right thing, but of course you know better, you would not.
In case you have difficulties putting it together: BB balls + propane + teddy = hidden nail/BB bomb.
To: John Jorsett
fell for that "propane makes a good bomb" nonsenseToss 'em in a fire and they make a good boom. Watch for flaming teddy bears.

Great. Now I have to reject birthday presents? What about these kind of teddies??? I'd like to see any red-blooded American male turn away THAT teddy.
That's my Valentine's Day gift to all the FR men. Enjoy it fellas
Well, she does more for me than
Jerusalem mayor Teddy Kollek, but not much.
These Chen sweeties from the *Jasmine school* are more my sort...cute, and sweet, smart and competent:

Does this mean that I get a "bye" on getting the wife Valentines stuff tomorrow? If you don't buy her Valentine's stuff, the terrorists will have won.
P.S. Valentine's day is TODAY.

Beware a teddy bear wearing a kafiyeh and shouting ALLAH AKBEAR! Or one wearing a Burka, or its Arabian equivalent, hiding whatever it is they hide under there.
Just the female bears, or maybe including female impersonator bears if there are such things, a fate too horrible to contemplate.
But in either event, the item of garb would be a Bearka....

Or one wearing a Burka, or its Arabian equivalent, hiding whatever it is they hide under there The Burka, or burqua, is very much a Arabian garment, as is its cousin, the kaftan or quaftaan.
And they have been known to hide explosives and automatic weapons beneath them, as in the Arab Revolt of the First World War to the Algerian revolt of the 1960s, as well as grapes, cheeses and other delights.

When the police arrive to find your face covered in chocolate and your fingers being licked to remove evidence, you'd be a prime suspect. My advice: eat fast! Godiva's are deeeeevine!

interesting... back in October - I noticed two + 'middle eastern men' parked in front of our local Wallmart. They were in a white Ford van with NewJersey plates.
it was late evening, and the van was backed in to a parking space - engine running - one man came out of the store, and the van was "outta there". one other interesting piece is that, although the van had regular license plates, there appeared to be a 'paper license plate' in the back window.
this was all reported to both local law enforcement and the FBI...
for what it's worth.
It's perfectly clear to me that persons unknown within our borders have plans to murder American children in the most gruesome way possible, presumably because "Palestinian children are being killed," or so it is alleged daily in the Arab press. Believe me, it won't be funny when it does happen. And I don't know how the hell Muslim Middle Easterners are going to expect to be able to live here peaceably after it does.
