Not mine, of course. It was writen by Suetonius, an ancient historian type biographer guy who believed in signs and omens predicting everything.
"But he gradually changed to sloth and inaction, not to give Nero any cause for jealousy, and as he used to say himself, because no one could be forced to render an account for doing nothing." HHHHHHMMMMMMMM ... smacks of many on the federal payroles. "Perfumed Generals," senators, etc.
Some things keep on cycling throughout history. Human nature and the endless mistakes we make, show us that we do not learn.
