you might want to check out what happened to the Quaker Mary Dye from the good christians of colonial Boston, before you make great claims for "Christian" tolerance of all religions.

In 1660. Geezzzz. Same tack the left takes when they bash Jefferson for owning slaves or denounce America for its treatment of Indians. Imposing the mores of today on what happened 340 years ago is a stretch.

In modern history there is one place, one country, one nation, where true religious tolerance came about -- that is here, America. It came about BECAUSE the people coming here -- many of them -- came here to practise their religion AS THEY SAW FIT. Not as the state, the religious oligarchy, the king said they had to.

There were MANY christian nations, many christian countries -- but only one America.

It was in the colonies that the need for tolerance was demonstrated -- the Mary Dye case was very significant in that. It was here that the bounds of tolerance were hammered out -- by good men. Don't put aside your own history, which is glorious.

America is a great place, it was built from strong foundations and a commitment to truth.

You risk much -- your children's future -- if you deny the value of understanding our formation, why America came about.
