This could create a tough dilemna for the hand-wringing, feminist types on the left
who are breathlessly decrying the awful treatment of those animals at Gitmo.
I'm on fairly good terms with what I'd call a young feminist lady.
She knows I'm conservative, she knows I know where she stands politically/culturally.
Last week I told her that the National Organization of Women should make Dubya
and our US Military Personnel "Person(s) of The Year" because they'd truly liberated
more women from actual slavery in four months as the NOW probably had liberated in the last 30 years.
She gave me a bit of a scowl, then a bit of a grin.
I took it as a grudging ackwodlegement that there might have at least been a bit
of truth in what I'd said.

What's interesting about this whole subject is that about two years ago there was a big campaign by NOW against the Taliban. Jay Leno's wife was a big player in it, if you recall she was a guest on his show (the only time she's been on, I think) just for that purpose. Since 9/11 and the war on terrorism, I haven't heard a peep from them. Funny, aint it?
