While the former veep praised President Bush for is stewardship of the war on terrorism, he warned that the country needed new leadership that would make finding energy "substitutes and alternatives and conservation" a priority.
Have any of you fellow FReepers even imagined how 9/11 and this war would have been handled if GORE & LIEBERMAN had won the election?
but the plans for 9-11 were in place long before Bush was even running for office. The attack would still have taken place if the Goron Coup succeeded. The big difference is that the Taliban would still be in power now while Gore tries negotiating with them as they continue to strike all over the western world. (Except maybe France because I believe they have already surrendered!)

Gore as President? A few missles at unimportant sites. Then the serious stuff would begin; the negotiations with the Taliban. New laws would have been drafted to restrict our freedoms, while keeping the INS from going after those here illegally. Gun rights would be a thing of the past, and we'd be fighting to keep our right to own knives and box cutters which would probably become registered items overnight. We would probably have even more international welfare (which serves to keep in power bad regemes that keep their people poor in most cases). I could go on and on; but I think you get the idea.
It is a scary though, one I have had many times. This is why I often thank God for President Bush!

And $HIT HIS PANTS when the second one hit. The Battleground Poll would show the same results for different reasons. Instead of being attracted by a positive example provided by GWB and the republicans, the public would be repulsed by AG and the Dimocrats.
Afghanistan would NOT be free right now.

The way I understand it, the Generals give several options, depending upon what the President asks for.
I believe that a President Gore (shudder) would have asked for much different options than our President Bush. It would have been a couple of quick bombings and then nothing. Lots of rhetoric, but no real muscle.
Gore would have had the same people as the clinton regime, like the general who wanted to have every person in the army wear black berets made in Communist China, and the female general who had the NICE campaign to eliminate aggressiveness from the military, and the generals who after 9/11 came to Rummy with a plan so timid and clintonesque he cussed them out and kicked them out of his office and told them to come back with a plan worthy of the United States.
Yeah, different speechwriters too, but very different things to write speeches about.
I can see Klintoon paying Dane-Geld (blackmail) to Osama.
