Add me to the ping list please. I was very impressed with Bush's speech. I never saw him look down to read anything & he didn't appear to be reading from a teleprompter, he had that whole speech in his head. I haven't heard ANYONE refer to Bush as dumb lately.

Without a message they wince; they are acting like what H.L. Mencken said of the Puritans, that they lived in constant fear that someone, somewhere is having a good time.

Actually, I believe Mencken was being unfair to the Puritans. They did enjoy their beer!:)

What bothers Democrats isn't anyone having a 'good time' (that is what keeps the people duped), but that someone may actually be free from their power.

Thanks for posting this article. Like President Bush, Peggy Noonan is both concise and honest. It can't get any better than this for me.

Excellent! Peggy's writing is as direct as the President's message.

It would seem that Parsing the President's Words has, blessedly, become a thing of the past.
Parsing the President's Words is still viable.
Not writing about it presently may preserve ones future freedom.

Patriot Act...Section 802: Definition of Domestic Terrorism – Creates a definition for "domestic terrorism" for the limited purpose of providing investigative authorities (i. e., court orders, warrants, etc.) for acts of terrorism within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States. Such offenses are those that are "( 1) dangerous to human life and violate the criminal laws of the United States or any state; and (2) appear to be intended (or have the effect) – to intimidate a civilian population; influence government policy by intimidation or coercion; or affect government conduct by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping (or a threat of)."

Please forgive my pessimism. My "dissenting view" could, not that it would, possibly endanger my current freedom from incarceration. I'd rather not chance it and I'll keep my parsing to myself.

In fact, the speech was blessedly free of the faux poetry that is often mistaken for eloquence.

HAHAHA!

Best subtle insult of the day.

Those who use rhyming slogans in lieu of intellectual premises, take note. You have been zinged.

I agree with you. From what I've read, they were also enthusiastic about 'marital relations', as well.

Those who don't want to join us are the losers here.

Peggy, like W, outdoes herself.

Dennis Prager devoted his entire show Weds. to replay and analysis of Bush's SOTU. He called it one of the most important speeches in American history. Dennis is neither a dummy nor a knee-jerk right winger.

Most of the pundit 'losers' you refer to are miffed about the Enron stink not sticking to Bush to their satisfaction, or they are taking up offenses for the rogue regimes, whose names Bush has taken, and whose ar$es we are ready to kick.

Peggy puts into words exactly what I am thinking about President Bush - but I am not able to articulate so beautifully. Wouldn't it me a great time to sit around and chat with Peggy and Mark Steyn ?? Pokey, please put me on your Peggy and Steyn ping lists, please. And thanks for taking the time and trouble to post the articles. Please, Pray for President Bush.

Well, in that case they were following scripture!

Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well....let thy fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.(Pr 5:15,18-19)
