Something to Say Commentary rsmith@wbal.com George Who? January 28, 2002) Its difficult to pinpoint the beginning of our end, but all the evidence indicates that we are well down the path toward self-destruction, or cultural suicide, if you will. The latest example in this mornings Washington Times is an article about how the revised version of the New Jersey Department of Education history standards manages to excise reference to the nations founders. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin have been removed in these latest revisions, as have the Pilgrims, the Mayflower, and the word war, which has been dropped in favor of conflict in lessons about American history. The Civil Conflict, one would suppose, was that nastiness between 1861 and 1865, and the Spanish-American Conflict was the one that gave us our first colonial possessions. Since these standards apply to American History alone, we are not yet subjected to our children being taught about the First World Conflict and its bastard son, the Second World Conflict, New Jersey, as much in the grip of political correctness as any state, isnt alone in this kind of trendy educational nonsense. Although excluding the founding fathers is pretty startling, erasing mention of the Pilgrims is a real stunner, too. Other states, like Virginia and Indiana also dont include Pilgrims in their standards. As far as I can tell from Ellen Sorokins story, the problem may be that the word Pilgrim denotes religion, about which we must not inform our kiddies at least not unless it is a religion other than Christianity thats to be discussed. This is a symptom of a far greater malady. But its revelatory as well. Its beyond time that Americans wake from their stupor and understand that their way of life is under fierce attack. We whites of European heritage are the only race seemingly compelled to self-loathing. Our time is short.

How many people these days truly appreciate what our forefathers accomplished?! How many people realize how tenuous our revolution was?!
George Washington led a rag-tag, under fed, under equipped army and defeated one of the world's great powers!
If we had lost, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, et. al., would have been hung as traitors and the American Revolution would be no more than a foot note in history, and chances are today's liberal bedwetters wouldn't have the freedom to whine.
The fact that the America-Haters of the great country these brilliant and brave men founded now seek to destroy their memory REALLY P!SSES ME OFF! The fact that they can actually accomplish their goals is a crime!
In the words of Benjamin Franklin, who was asked,"Mr. Franklin! What kind of a government have you given us?!"
"A Republic, madam, if you can hold on to it!"
A bill to require naming the section of the Constitution authorizing a law was renounced by both sides of the aisle a couple years ago. That tells you both sides know what they are doing is illegal, and they don't care.
Hey if O'Reilly couldn't refute it who can?
Can anyone help me out here?
I blame the schools, of course. If we do not learn history, we are doomed to repeat it. That said, I think it's positive that one of the top-selling nonfiction books last year was the excellent biography of John Adams. Shows people are interested, at least.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I tried doing Google searches, but Im not having much luck).
Sorry if this would be considered a vanity type post, but Im desperate. This article is a BIG reason why I want to homeschool.
I would like to know more about the post above that mentions a law passed by congress that allows these corrupt politicians to omit the section of the constitution that allows for the legislation they are pushing. This is absolutely unacceptable.
I saw on TV yesterday that they are rewriting the Bible now. They are making it gender sensitive - or some other stupid buzz word(s). I'll stick to the KJV thank you. I don't care if it ticks some libber or homo off.
The whole world has gone crazy. There are to many people sitting around with time on their hands and nothing to do but come up with these crazy ideas.
Teach your kids the truth and to heck with this PC nonsense.
Go to Congressman Ron Paul's web site THE LIBERTY COMMITTEE because he at one time was sponsoring a bill that would require all legislation to meet a Constitutional muster before being introduced. I will try to find it for you.
Linda Bowles has a good article at Jewish World Review on "The best indoctrination money can buy" that also provides some insight. Peace and love, George.
