Years ago I watched an interview with the author of MASH. He said that he did not write the book with nearly the anti-war bias that appeared in the series. So it looks like Altman has been at this for a long time.

Years ago I watched an interview with the author of MASH. He said that he did not write the book with nearly the anti-war bias that appeared in the series.

That's the truth - I read the book years ago and was struck by its liberal-bashing. The movie has always been one of my faves until I watched it again recently. I had forgotten all the Christian-bashing directed at Major Burns. Needless to say, no longer one of my faves.
