Democrats Want To Impeach Bush

We now have the perception problem on Enron - and this is where it's getting ridiculous. The media just happens to have a recent poll to prove their absurd point of view about Enron. Can you believe this? Yes, CBS ran a poll question that found two-thirds of the American people think something strange happened here. Well, hell's bells! Wouldn't you, if all you knew about it was what the mainstream press had told you? You sure as heck would!

The media loves to say that they're not trying to influence the outcome of events. Hells bells if they're not. The media are not just standing on the corner and watching what happens. They are creating news. They are creating public opinion. "So do you, Rush." I know I am, but here's the gigantic difference: I admit it to you. The Los Angeles Times and New York Times and CBS won't ever admit that.

Nobody in the press is calling for each and every member of Congress to release information about all their contacts with Enron or Arthur Andersen or Citigroup, are they? They're demanding that all the Republicans do it. Joe Lieberman, whose former chief of staff is an Enron lobbyist and who met with Lieberman and his staff, is not asked to release a list of all of his contacts! Yet Lieberman remains as the man in charge of the Senate's investigation into Enron, of all things! You want to talk about the appearance of impropriety? It's right there with old Smokin' Joe.

If you moderates and liberals have had any doubt about the motivations of the Democratic Party or of the press, they should be blown away by this. They're trying to make Enron the next Watergate. They'll do it even if they have to make it out of nothing, with no facts, with no wrongdoing. They're not worried about you investors that lost everything.

They're just going to claim they are so that you'll be on their side. If they cared about the "little guy," ask yourself why they repeatedly stand in the way of anything that would improve this economy. What's Enron when compared to the rest of this economy?

Now it's come out that Cheney might have helped Enron with their Indian power plant. They were following up on what the Clinton administration had already committed to them! Besides, if they hadn't tried to get Enron paid, and the company failed, wouldn't the press be screaming that the administration did nothing. They're screaming that now!

Here's Bush talking about the new tone and embracing Ted Kennedy, and here's the press in absolute panic over not finding anything bad on Enron. The L.A. Times has an editorial that takes guilt by association to an extreme that I have never seen before. When Enron was failing, this administration jumped out of the way. It was Robert Rubin, formerly of the Clinton administration, who rang phones at the Bush White House off the hook as a hired gun for Enron. The Bush people had to tell him to stop calling because it was inappropriate! Yet Rubin is totally ignored.

The New York Times wrote what could have been a semester essay assignment on the Republicans, but didn't include one reference to the 250-plus thousand dollars given to Joe Lieberman and Lieberman-related organizations. You don't see one mention of Bob Rubin's name. It's just maddening to see what's happening here. Because of one business failure and because this business is in Texas and because the owner happened to be called "Kenny Boy" by George W. Bush, they think they have a link and that America is rotten, that capitalism is evil.

The level of complete economic illiteracy at the nation's newspapers amazes even me. These people are biased to the core, and I'll say it again: they will stop at nothing to destroy George W. Bush.

Considering the charges have to be initiated in the House, I'd say they have a bit of a problem.

Don't multi-billionaires stick together? Think about it, here we have Osama Bin Laden, a multi-billionaire, and Saddam Hussein, also a multi-billionaire, and the guys who own the LA Times are also multi-billionaires, as is Donald Graham who owns the Washington Post - and what is it all these multi-billionaires want?

They are all devoted to the single minded proposition that George Bush should be removed from office!

I say it is time we expand the war on terrorism to a war on multi-billionaires. Just pass a tax law that strips them of everything they have down to their last hundred million bucks. Bet they'd change their mind about getting rid of "W" - except for Osama - nothing would persuade that guy - leastwise, not these days!

Oh, yeah, almost forgot - we have to add the little jugeared guy to the list. Take away his money and see what he has to say.

It helps to remember the background of the Clinton scandals of the 1990s. The media downplayed all of the financial based scandals (Ron Brown, Chinagate) saying they were too complicated to understand and the public wasn't interested. And, of course, the ever popular, "the Republicans did the same thing too..."

The only reason the Lewinsky scandal took off was because of the sex elements---although we all know that this scandal was really about abuse of power, perjury and obstruction of justice. (despite the media characterized of it as "only" a sex scandal.)

Now, we have a purely financial scandal which no one can understand, and we are told it is another Watergate because it supposedly involves the Republicans.

Personally, I doubt this scandal will ultimately go anywhere. The RATS are up to their elbows in anything they accuse the Republicans of doing. And, the bottom line is that it is *all* financial and to most people, BORING.

Rush is as frustrated as anyone else here about the falsehoods which the networks are willing to foster.

I wouldn't say that, personally. I dont think anyone is 100% right, and definitely wouldn't advertise myself as such. Am I right? ;)

The media loves to say that they're not trying to influence the outcome of events.

The national media's motto is: "when we want your opinion, we'll give it to you."

Rushbo is damn right....a few of us have been posting this since the Enron story broke, while others keep saying it will go away since the Rats are in this too and there is no *there* there.
Well, folks this isn't going away, the media isn't reporting half the story and the Rats will be back in DC this week tripping over each other in the race to the microphone.
I take the Forehead(Begala) at his word, *We will crucify Bush with this*>

Yes, and America is smart. They have switched CBS and CNN off, and migrated over to Fox.
