Thanks for your timeline. It is exactly like mine because we both had thoughts about the events then FORGOT about them until the next one occured. Did we do anything about them? Call our Representatives and demand stronger security for America or write a letter to the editor asking fellow Americans to call their senators. NOPE, we read and watched what happened then sat back comfortable in our chairs and thought about what should have been done. So before you criticize me ask yourself if you have done anything since 9/11.
The point is "I" didn't forget. You describe your behavior not mine. You forgot because it wasn't personal enough. From your list it looks like you also forget when they shot up and killed our people in front of the CIA headquarters here in Virginia, do you remember that one? We lost some good people in that attack.
I am sorry it had to hit home for you to take notice and I am sorry for the loss of your friend. We are fortunate it wasn't worse, it certianly could have been and we know it was designed to be.
