We can see exactly what you said - that among other things you think our constitution, because it says "we the people" like any other democratic government must, is socialist.

You really missed the point. Just because a document says "we the people", that does not mean that the government it is supposed to codify is reflective of the wishes of said people, nor that it follows that document at all closely. Witness the Clinton Administration.

Next, you are republic not a democracy. That flew over your head - because a republic establishes a rule of a law, not of men. Democracy means that everything is up for discussion - when in reality, in order to preserve liberty, not everything should be up for discussion. Freedom of speech would be thrown out as soon as a rapper made an album with too many F words in it, if it were. By the same token, it means that the government and its representative institutions exists as an entity outside "the people" with its own interests and perogatives. Checks and balances are supposed to hold this in place, but this does not always work.

Hence, suspicion of government and all its works must remain a priority of conservatives. How you twist this basic principle into some supposition that I am a socialist is a study in dementia. I am the furthest thing from, but then again, I don't trust my government and wouldn't even if there was a singular document with "We the people" on it.
