Four hundred seventy-nine rescue workers--firemen, police, security guards, and maintenance staff--gave their lives at Ground Zero saving victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. That selfless spirit, the subsequent generosity of our people and the determined political leadership and military action against terrorism tells of our patriotism and our character. Together, they are not only the Best of 2001; they are the best reflection of American values in a long, long time; one good result from our worst day in 60 years.

Kinda hard to repair an elevator inside a towering inferno.

Du Pont should replace at least one of the pair of Senatorial slime Delaware has inflicted on the Body Politic.

In 1988 I was going to vote GOP if Pete had been the nominee. Couldn't vote for Bush (41) so I voted Libertarian.

The point is, gore-boy, they should have done their jobs and it would not have been that difficult to bring cars to the nearest floor and get some people out!! At the time the lower 2/3 of each tower was not threatened!

Cowardly is as cowardly does!

Perhaps Gary Hart and Andrew Young are the new heros. They were the authors of the Patriot Act (passed with much dissent, or even reading.)

Look, I know common sense is a little hard for you to grasp, gore-boy, but please tell me: Do you personally know where each and every elevator was in that building at the time of attack? Do you know for a fact that all maintenance crews knew where the elevators were? Do you have any idea if these crews could get to the elevators? How do you know that attempts to reach those people were not made? Can you account for the whereabouts of all maintenance crews at the time of attack? How do you know that these men were not helping others at some other place in the building? Maybe they were forced out of the building by firefighters and policemen?

When you've answered all these qeustions get back to me. Until then, take a few Prozac and get a grip on reality.

Do you personally know where each and every elevator was in that building at the time of attack?
No, that is what the elevator bank indicators are for!

Do you know for a fact that all maintenance crews knew where the elevators were?
Yes, that is what the elevator bank indicators are for!

Do you have any idea if these crews could get to the elevators?
If they could run out while the Cops and Firemen were running up, yes they could have!

How do you know that attempts to reach those people were not made?
The story was reported and the unions were as quiet as church-mice, when was the last time a union didn't piss and moan about everything?

Can you account for the whereabouts of all maintenance crews at the time of attack?
No, but all maintenance at WTC was located in the bowels of the building!

How do you know that these men were not helping others at some other place in the building?
See the union answer above, same applies here!

Maybe they were forced out of the building by firefighters and policemen?
Cops and Fireman have their own concerns ie.. civilians and they count on building personnel to aid them!

I don't need Prozac and I have exactly the life I want!
