Heartfelt gratitude to all who have responded. I thank you for your prayers, your sharing of your own experiences, and for some great suggestions. I hadn't heard of Tough Love; anyone have contact info for that organization?

Dear brother and sister. I so full well understand where you are coming from. My husband and I also have a son who is very far from his roots and in the natural his life looks very hopeless. However, the scripture that God gave me several years ago that I still claim is this: Jeremiah 31:16 & 17 - Thus saith the Lord; Refrain they voice from weeping and thine eyes from tears; for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they sahll come again from the land of the enemy 17: And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that they children shall come again to their own border." I too, would appreciate your prayers for my son in particular (his name is Mark) and my daughter, who is just cold to the things of the Lord but was once a spiritual dynamo. Love in Christ, Lynn

Being of the "Woodstock" generation, I probably did everything possible to alienate my parents. Now my #2 son (big IQ guy) is paying me back. He is 16 and headed for college next year. Although he is not into drugs, he is into rebellion. My prayer for him is that he have a BUNCH OF KIDS so that he can finally understand how we love them in spite of everything. I will pray for your son, (please give us his first name), but I know that the Lord has a perfect plan for him, and that your love for him WILL WIN OUT.
