What other categories should be added? Maybe we can tally up the votes for award. What would the name of the FR award be? Have at it FReepers!

I nominate the Day in the Life of President Bush threads for both Most Informative (they have let us know what the media wouldn't about the President's activities day by day) and Most Inspirational because having in the White House such a good, decent man who loves God, his country, and his family and has led the country through so much has truly been inspirational.

Most Informative - Harry Potter (because there were 3004 of them to inform you
Most Controversial - Harry Potter (obvious)
Most Inspirational - Harry Potter (inspired me to use witchcraft to make a flying motorcycle)
Most Ludicrous - Harry Potter Is Evil (and can make cheese levitate)

Some of the best which come to my mind:

The threads unfolding the events of 9/11 from tribute sites, to the photos in the WTC tower stairwell, to the satellite photos. We had FANTASTIC coverage.

The anthrax victim threads.

The 9/11-related thread on the "Gore Commission" and possible airline campaign donation "bribes"--was that an freeper "exclusive"?

I'd like to know about the best Freeper "exclusives" of 2001.

It's sad but pretty much anything before 9/11 in terms of news is a blur. I'll see what comes to mind.

I second that. Great photos, always. A good reminder that we could have gotten stuck with a Day in The Life of President Gore, and reading any other article would be kind of irrelevant under those circumstances.

Sometimes we all need a diversion from the serious issues and events. This thread What is the square root of pi? , was one of my favorites for the best distraction category.
