Bin Ladan is a front. For who, we don't know yet. I suspect the Saudis.

So do I, but what a suicidal plan. We've propped up the corrupt house of Saud. Why pay off terrorists whose intent is to attack the U.S.? It won't pay in the long run.

I don't think it's the Saudis - or at least the Saudi government. But there probably are some renegade factions that are backing bin Laden, with the Iraqis and a couple more of the usual suspects.
