The explorers said they believed the mysterious structures, discovered at the astounding depth of around 2,100 feet and laid out like an urban area, could have been built at least 6,000 years ago. That would be about 1,500 years earlier than the great Giza pyramids of Egypt.

Is this based on how long ago the site would have been above sea level?

experts from the Cuban Academy of Sciences,
returned to the site in their ship "Ulises."

Looks like the embargo has succeeded in
keeping spell checkers out of Castro's hands. :)

"It's a really wonderful structure which looks like it could have been a large urban center," said Soviet-born Canadian ocean engineer Paulina Zelitsky ... "However, it would be totally irresponsible to say what it was before we have evidence," Zelitsky told Reuters

Translation - We haven't found anything yet, but let's make a wild speculative guess about what we might have found so we can get more FUNDING (which is what sensational headlines like this are usually about.)

Paul Tidwell, of Cape Verde Explorations, told me that the waters around Cuba are filled with shipwrecks in shallow water just waiting to be harvested. When Castro gives permission, there will be a whole lot of salvaging happening. Tidwell located and attempted to salvage a Japanese cargo sub (I-52) that was sunk by torpedo bombers in mid-Atlantic at a depth of 17,400 ft., so he is no amateur.

I see the opportunity for a buy off the plan investment shelf exploration company scam of large proportions here.
