"...this is actually better than usual for the Senate GOP." They did fine. And the Senate GOP will do much better a year from now - when they pick up 4, maybe 5 seats. I believe that this coming Nov., the Democrats have 17 Senator seats up for grabs/it'll be our turn to kick some butt - and regain control of the Senate!!

Hold on a sec. The repubs have many more seats coming up to re-election than the Dems. We're not at all expected to pick up four seats. Besides, it barely matters with Lott in charge. Bring in Nickles already.

Sad to say this is not correct. In 2002 there are 20 Republicans and only 14 Democrats up for re-election in the Senate. While I see a hand full we might beat I see some we could lose.

Whatever.....I am not optimistic....in fact, I would not be surprised if we lose the House also next year.
