Fox News Channel reports that it is trying to confirm news it has received from American military sources that Mullah Mohammed "Zoom Zoom" Omar may have pretended to be a car for the last time.
Omar is said to have been in one of two buildings destroyed by American air strikes tonight. The buildings command centers for the Taliban and AlQaeda, and housed offices of Wasa, the Saudi "reilef" agency funneling money to Osama and the Taliban.
The buildings were definitely hit; what is awaited is confirmation that Omar was among the fragmented.

Taliban Envoy Says Omar Safe After U.S. Attack
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Mullah Mohammad Omar, supreme leader of Afghanistan (news - web sites)'s Taliban militia, was safe Wednesday after U.S. jets bombed a leadership compound, Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) quoted the former Taliban ambassador as saying.
``No harm was done to Amirul Momineen (Leader of the Faithful),'' the private Pakistan-based news agency quoted the Taliban's former ambassador to Pakistan, Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, as saying.
Neither Omar nor other Taliban officials were in the compound hit by U.S. planes a day earlier, Zaeef was quoted as saying. It was not a leadership compound, he said.
Zaeef's remarks came after Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said U.S. warplanes Tuesday bombed a compound in southern Afghanistan used by leaders of the Taliban and the al Qaeda group of Osama bin Laden (news - web sites).
``We don't know about his (bin Laden's) whereabouts. He is not in our territory,'' Zaeef was quoted as saying.
