Or reduce the Bush absentee votes by the thousands the Bush campaign illegally filled in in the Republican counties in Florida where the Democrats were not allowed to do the same. Personally, I'm glad Bush is president because of 911, but Gore won the election and nothing by raw, rotten, corrupt politics gave the election to Bush. Anyone that is intellectually honest has to admit this. Flying in protesters to intimidate recounts, the Supremes granting an injunction that won't hold water on legal grounds, and the repetition of the phrase the votes have been counted and counted and recounted when they were only counted once, and never even recounted a single time in all precincts as required by Florida law.

You only made one rational statement in your entire post. The rest is fantasyland ranting.

You are confused. Bush won the Election by virtue of his Electoral College victory. That was the Election. Anyone that is not out of touch with reality has to admit this.

Flying in protesters to intimidate recounts,

Oh yes, those oh so "intimidating" protesters. Guys in ties and wingtips. I suppose you never heard the election officials explain that their decisions were not affected by those protestors anyway?

the Supremes granting an injunction that won't hold water on legal grounds,

According to your brilliant legal analysis which I assume is forthcoming....

and the repetition of the phrase the votes have been counted and counted and recounted when they were only counted once, and never even recounted a single time in all precincts as required by Florida law.

This is a lie. ALL THE BALLOTS IN FLORIDA WERE RE-COUNTED. All of them.

It was mandated by Florida law because the election was so close (margin of victory less than 1.5%). Because of the closeness, a statewide recount was mandated - and performed - promptly (completed something like the day after the election, as I recall).

How "intellectually honest" is it to tell lies?

Yeah right....whatever

The votes were all recounted across the entire state of FL as mandated by FL election law as was in place PRIOR to the election.

I guess you forgot about the busloads of people Gore had brought in with Jesse Jackson to march on Florida.

Pretty convenient to only remember the parts you want to remember isn't it.

Nope. Do some more research.

The bit involved was the person's last 4 digits of his/her social security number. I believe it was called "Voter ID" on the form or something... usually it is pre-printed (and on the ballots that the Democratic workers had sent out, it was indeed pre-printed). However, the Republican workers goofed up and left it blank--resulting in many absentee voters having no idea what to put in there and therefore leaving it blank.

The Democrats pre-printed this instead of filling it in afterwards. The Republicans forgot to print it on (as it should have been) and filled it in afterwards. What the Republicans did was illegal according to law, but throwing votes out was too extreme a penalty even for super-liberal judge like Nikki Clark.

There was no unfair favoritism towards the Democrats since they already printed this info on the ballot beforehand...

There was no disenfranchisement of Democrats, because they already had pre-printed this info and they did not have to fill it in. No Democrats lost their votes because of this technicality which only applied to an oversight on the Republicans' part.

Next question?

You should have paid closer attention. The ONLY difference was that the GOP "fixed" their absentee ballots right there in the office; the DNC took theirs back to their office and "fixed" theirs.

Ah, you just proved you are totally ignorant of what actually went on. When Gore took by his concession at 2 AM EST, there were already TWO PLANE LOADS of Gore staff in the air on the way to Florida; they landed before the sun rose on Wednesday morning.

You really need to read up on the facts; even your beloved New York Times says Bush won fair and square.
